Las Vegas Mandarin Oriental
What an absolute pleasure to be invited to the Las Vegas Mandarin Oriental to showcase property mixologist, William Perbellini. The exquisite 5-star luxury hotel is a stunningly beautiful, smoke-free environment that is void of gaming. No sirens wailing or mock sounds of coins falling declaring someone won $50, or cocktail waitresses offering “Cocktails! Cigars! Cigarettes!” The absence of the traditional Las Vegas hoop-lahh was a welcomed retreat after spending an exhausting week of travel. The ambiance of the Madarin Oriental was conducive to a feeling of relaxation. I found myself walking a little slower and enjoying the beautiful lighting, the decor and the seating spaces. Just off the main lobby on the 23rd Floor is a beautifully designed tea lounge that offers coffee, juices, cocktails and delicious delicacies all set to the backdrop of the beautiful Las Vegas cityscape. Past the tea lounge are two large heavy wrought iron doors that lead to the Mandarin bar. There you’ll find floor to ceiling windows that reflect the twinkling lights of the city. It’s a stunning space with equally stunning cocktails.
This is William Perbellini’s award winning cocktail beautifully presented, called Monte Colazione, made with Amaro Montenegro, apricot jam, orgeat, lemon, and egg whites, and coffee infused bitters. The entire experience had me taking deep breaths and exhaling with a very large grin on my face. These are the things heaven on earth is made of.
